Legend 1: Scholar's Tea
According to legend, during the Xuande period of the Ming Dynasty, a scholar named Ding Xian was passing through Wuyi Mountain when he fell ill by the side of the road. Fortunately, the old abbot of Tianxin Yongshou Zen Temple rescued him and gave him Dahongpao tea to drink, and his condition was miraculously cured. Another legend states that during the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Qianlong traveled south of the Yangtze River on a small tour and when he passed through Wuyi Mountain, he tasted the Dahongpao tea offered by a local tea farmer and was overwhelmed with praise. In recognition of the excellent quality of the tea plant, Emperor Qianlong gave it a Dahongpao and named it "Dahongpao".
